About meI drink coffee and smoke fags. To obtain money for books and beer I teach and research (actually, the research doesn't pay). I live with a tripedal cat (pictured), and a variable number of bipeds.
About my libraryThese are more or less all the books I own that aren't in boxes or otherwise difficult to get at. The vast majority were obtained serendipitously from charity shops and market stalls. It's an accidental accumulation, not really a collection; though as a map of my mental space it's probably a pretty accurate indicator. That's worrying...
The remaining books, to be added eventually, are mainly genre paperbacks. I doubt that I'll add my e-books as I don't really consider them to be books.
While assigning covers to books I discovered how incredibly anal I can be. All covers are those of the edition I own. I ought to thank the wonderful people who uploaded the 3,000 or so that I've been able to find and add to the site. Many of these were booksellers and ebay merchants, of course, but especial thanks here to trashfiction, Vault of Evil (not just for the horror covers), and to dealer G. D. Price.

I like your collection of punk music books! While I am not so anal with choosing the correct covers for my books, I'm pretty discriminating when it comes to organising my music and album covers, ha ha.
What do you teach/research?

Having the "wrong cover" just doesn't seem right, somehow.

Not at all anal! I did exactly the same, then when I look at my library in "cover mode", it's like looking at my own bookshelves (past and present). I thought everyone did this? (Oh god, please don't tell me I'm anal...)

Was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Saw you liked Paris Trout, and I thought you might like my novel since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

I just added a slew of books and see we now share quite a few. I note that, like me, you prefer LT book covers to match the actual volume. All mine have covers scanned and as these are UK versions they might be of use to you
